The Growing Adoption of Electronic Medical Records: Key Findings from a Recent Physician Poll

In a poll released in the September issue of Physicians Practice (www.physicianspractice.com), a surprising number of physician practices already have EMRs. Electronic medical records are fast becoming the norm, not a cutting-edge technology according to the article accompanying the following EMR poll:

41% have fully implemented EMR

21% don’t plan to get an EMR anytime soon

20% have selected an EMR but not yet fully implemented it

7% are shopping for an EMR

5% plan to buy an EMR within 12 months

3% plan to buy an EMR within 6 months

2% use an EMR selected and provided by the hospital

1% plan to buy an EMR with 3 months
